Pre-Ballet classes are a wonderful way to introduce your little one to dance! Rosebuds (ages 2.5 – 3), Bluebells (ages 3 – 4), Lilacs (ages 4 – 5), and Primary (ages 5 – 6) students can be expressive and creative, and use their imagination while learning the basic principles of ballet and tap. In addition, your dancer will learn rhythm, how to take direction, how to listen and count music and an understanding of using music in motion. Teachers cultivate a warm and and nurturing environment to inspire musicality, boost self confidence, and exemplify exercise. We recommend all Pre-Ballet students be potty trained!
In Elementary, students become more focused with an hour long ballet class. Your dancer will learn the important principles of proper ballet technique and alignment with attention to detail, to create a strong foundation for the years to follow. Elementary students also have the option to take tap and/or jazz in addition to ballet.
Division 1 students are ready to learn more intermediate steps at barre and in center, while still working on precision in placement and alignment. Division 1 students are encouraged to take technique 1-2 days a week, and also have the option to take tap, jazz, and/or lyrical!
Now working at a more intermediate level, Division 2 dancers start to practice more intricate combinations and tempo changes, while still focusing on technique and learning new steps. Division 2 dancers are encouraged to take technique 2 days a week, and also have the option to take tap, lyrical, and jazz!
Consistently working at an intermediate level, Division 3 dancers start to practice intricate combinations and tempo changes, while still focusing on proper technique and learning new steps. In addition, Division 3 dancers will begin to focus on exercises which strengthen their bodies and prepare them for pointe. Division 3 dancers are encouraged to take technique 3 days a week to see ample progression and strength to accomplish steps in a safe manner. They also have the option to take tap, contemporary, and/or jazz!
With a strong understanding of ballet technique, Advanced students are ready to take their dancing to the next level and focus deeper on artistry and expression in addition to learn more complicated steps and choreography. Advanced students are encouraged to take ballet technique every day to be successful in their progression and to prevent injury due to weakness. They are also encouraged to take pointe, variations, and contemporary!
