Erin Burt

Erin is a professional ballerina who trained in a predominantly classical Vaganova technique, however she has performed ballets by Balanchine, Ashton, and multiple contemporary choreographers. She began her training at the age of six at North Atlanta Dance Academy. During her twelve years at the school, she performed lead roles and graduated as an Honors Company Member. After four years of attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, she earned her BFA in Ballet. During her time there, she had the privilege of being taught and coached by Susan Jaffe, Jennet Zerbe, Eva Draw, and many guest artists and choreographers including Ethan Stiefel, Gillian Murphy, and Natalia Makarova. While there, she performed as the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy in “The Nutcracker”, a soloist in “La Bayadere”, the female lead of “Symphonic Variations”, and the female lead in Susan Jaffe’s original work “Carmina Terra”. In 2018, Erin was thrilled to perform her professional debut as the Swan Queen in North Atlanta Dance Theater’s production of “Swan Lake”. For the 2018-2019 season, she danced with the Sarasota Ballet performing in “Paquita”, “Giselle”, and as the Snow Queen in the Sarasota Ballet second company’s “Nutcracker”. Currently, Erin is in her second season with the City Ballet of San Diego. With City Ballet, she has performed in “Carmina Burana”, “The Nutcracker”, and Balanchine’s “Walpurgisnacht”. She is excited and grateful to continue working on new, virtual performances this season that have included Snow Princess and Arabian Lead in “The Nutcracker”, Betsey Wistrich’s “Barber Adagio Pas de Deux”, and performing as a principal in both Geoffrey Gonzales’s “Seasons” and in Betsey Wistrich’s “Still World Turning”.
