Laura Rutledge

Laura Rutledge began her dance training at the Indianapolis Ballet Theatre Academy at the age of eleven. After just three years, she was invited to join the main company as the founding member of its trainee- intern program, where she performed and toured with the company. Laura received additional dance training during summer intensives at the San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Rock School, Charleston Ballet, and Hartford Ballet. During her eighteen-year dance career, Laura danced professionally with Ballet Internationale, California Ballet Company, State Street Ballet, Company C Contemporary Ballet, Ballet San Jose, Madison Ballet, Lawrence Pech Dance Company, The Metropolitan Opera, and Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. She has been fortunate to tour throughout North America, China, and Europe.

Throughout her dance career, Laura maintained a Pilates practice to help build core strength and prevent injuries. In 2011, she completed a 650- hour comprehensive classical Pilates certification, through Power Pilates in New York City. Laura has taught Pilates for a wide range of organizations, including Power Pilates, Equinox Fitness, Google NYC, Harvard Club, Joffrey Ballet, Lar Lubovitch Dance, Pilates on Park, Ballet Arte, Chakra Pilates, and Danceology.

When she’s not teaching, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and two young sons.
