PREMIERING DECEMBER 2020
4S Dance Academy students can still have a magical Nutcracker experience! While we may not be able to hold a traditional performance in the theatre, we are excited to announce that we will be producing a professional mini-movie “Clara’s Dream”! A professional videographer will capture 4SDA students as they perform amazingly choreographed excerpts, in beautiful costumes, from the classic Tchaikovsky ballet. The excerpts will be professionally edited into a narrated mini-movie!
Students who participate will receive a digital download and a VIP invitation to the ticketed premier viewing party! We will be rolling out the red carpet online or in studio (as permitted) for a socially distanced walk-through event that will be a ton of fun for the entire family! The event will be held in December, time and Date TBD.
Set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, 4SDA’s professionally choreographed dancers bring to life the excerpts of the beautiful and beloved tale. Dancers from Lilacs through Division 6 are encouraged to let their imagination run wild as they join Clara on a magical journey with her Nutcracker through the winter snow, to the Land of the Sweets and back again.
Rehearsals
In-Studio rehearsals will typically be held on the weekend and will begin right away! Studio space and availability for in-studio rehearsals is limited under the current safety protocols, so the choreography will be recorded and available online. Students will be required to review and rehearse the choreography on their own in addition to the in-studio rehearsals. All Rehearsals are mandatory!
Filming
Filming will take place in November, times and dates TBD. As we will continue to follow the state and county safety requirements, the excerpts will be choreographed so dancers stay socially distanced. Face coverings will be a part of the costumes in a creative way for group pieces.
Premier Viewing Party
As the State and County restrictions continue to change, we have plans for an in-person red carpet viewing, an in-person red carpet / online viewing and a totally virtual red carpet and viewing event. More details will be posted soon and of course are subject to change.
